We’ll see how it looks and works shortly, but let’s take a look at the other options first. Those two little details aside, this is a great set of options that can be carefully tuned to your optimum. The other disappointment is that there is no Motion Blur setting because Motion Blur is awful and as far as I know it doesn’t pair with other options. A small touch, but a nice one, so it’s a bit disappointing that the options that Actually benefit from certain details are completely ignored. For example, highlighting “Move left” displays a tooltip that says “Scientists recently discovered that the opposite of going right”. Selecting a language has a zombie word (in that language’s text) “Graagh… If you can’t read this… grrrh… you’d better choose another language”, while all key combinations have de sarcastic little asides. I don’t really know what they’re doing, and it’s a little disappointing because Dead Rising 4 actually has a very good menu helper in most of its other sections. There are a grand total of 16 visual settings, ranging from the usual things like texture quality to, uh, translucency lighting and dynamic load scaling. I’m not sure if it handles some of the weirder aspect ratios, but I wouldn’t be entirely surprised given how many options it has. The resolution ranges from 5120 × 2880 at 144Hz to 640 × 480 at 24Hz, so you’re almost certainly covered – although I would dread to see someone try to run this game on a system that has a maximum resolution of 640 × 480. Dead Rising 4.įirst of all, the options, which are wonderfully plentiful. Nonetheless, this should give you a rough baseline of how a comparable system will handle.

As always, keep in mind that my computer is apparently powered by a wizard as it tends to run things that he shouldn’t be able to run. I’m running it on my regular system: an i7-3820 with 16GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 970.

Which is probably a bad analogy given that most people agree that slow zombies are the best zombies, but shhh. With its recent Steam release, however, it now seems like a good time to take a look at Dead Rising 4 and find out if its PC version is a dragging corpse, or the kind of lean, mean beast that runs to the brim for your face.

These rumors are obviously unverifiable because no one actually uses the Windows 10 Store. There are rumors whispered that Dead Rising 4 actually released some time ago on the Windows 10 Store.
